Conference „weltwärts“ - Ubuntu, Voluntarism and volunteer work
Impacts & experiences of the „weltwärts“ program in consideration of other volunteer services on the example of South Africa
from 02. to 03. September 2009 at Andreas Hermes Akademie in Bonn-Röttgen, Germany (for former volunteers the conference starts on 31.08.!).
With this invitation we also send you detailed information of the conference program.
We especially ask all sending organizations to motivate your former volunteers to share their experience by taking part in the conference !

Detailed Information & Programme of the Conference
Co-operation meeting - Youth and Development - International- On the meeting which took place on september 7th in Eschborn, representatives and organisations of the International Youth Work and the Field of Development Work met. Organised by the co-operation "Youth and International Develpoment" (Jugenti) the meeting focussed on further networking. By exchanging experiences of both fields of work, it was possible to find ideas that are in common and creating inspirations for new projects and co-operation.
Cape Town October/2006- conference
"Social Development through sustainable partnerships" From 9.-13.October about 10- 15 German delegations took part in the conference held by SAGE Net members.

Bonn October/2005- South African- German Conference - In October 2005 SAGE Net e.V. organised a conference focusing the South African - German exchange. The aim, followed by the conference was to a further development of existing co- operations - but the contact provide options for new partners too.

Potsdam November/2004- Conference
There was a good response to the conference for the South African- German exchange of youth and qualified emploees. The conference was visited by about 60 participants. On the one hand this indicated the number of German organisations that are involved in that field of work, on the other hand it showed the need of networking and co-operation.

Co-operation tour 2004
For developing the structure extending of the partnerships between Germany and South Africa, a Sage Net Co-operation tour was organised in 2004. In that way the German side came into contact with UMAC, Hukisa, DDP, German Consulate in Cape Town, GTZ South Africa, Konrad Adenauer Association, Heinrich Böll Association.
The Netzwork- meeting in June 2002 in Oberhausen was held for presenting the various projects and planning of further activities of the network.
Contact tour South Africa 2001
From 6.-13. April 2001 a contact tour- organised by SYNERGIE Soziale Bildung & transfer e.V.-both SAGE Net members- took place. Besides of getting to know partner organisations i.e. the Cape Mental Health Society, Community Chest, Streets, the delegations visited Paarl and the new found partner organisation.
