Dear SAGE Net members,
Welcome to the new year 2023! SAGE Net is back after the holidays. We wish everyone a happy new year and a healthy new year!
The year 2022 was very eventful. Together we review the past year and thank you all for your active support!
Our new team
At the beginning of the year our team expanded. We welcomed Isa and Matthias. The two of them took over the North-South, as well as the South-North coordination. Thank you very much for your hard work!
The South North volunteers have arrived!
In April we could finally welcome people from South Africa again. At first only Themba, Thulani and Prince joined us. The group increased in September. We are very happy to have volunteers in Germany again!
Strategy meeting
A strategy meeting of our Executive Board was also held in Berlin in April. At the same time, all members of the Executive Board got to know each other personally for the first time.
The strategy meeting provided space for new ideas and strategic planning. New projects were classified here. In the course of the year, some of these projects have already been implemented.
Cookbook and Podcast
In summer we were very happy to finally release two new projects! After months of hard work in the Working Groups, we were proud to present:
(1) The SAGE Net Cookbook – a collection of recipes from South Africa and Germany, with photos and lots of love.
(2) The SAGEcast – a project of the Fundraising AG. A podcast in English, with stories from the volunteers about their stay and topics from South Africa and Germany. The podcast is hosted by Chris, a SAGE Net Alumni.
Welcome to the team!
Since September we have a new project coordinator, Carina!
At the same time we were happy to welcome back Ann-Sophie, who supports the South-North coordination. We thank you for your hard work and look forward to the time ahead.
A SAGE Net learning trip
At the end of the year we could present a project! In 2023, there will be a 16-day minibus trip through South Africa. With the focus on “Education for Sustainable Development”, we invite tenders for our educational trip.
Registration is still possible.
