What is weltwärts?

weltwärts is a development policy volunteer service of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. With weltwärts, young people can spend 12 to 24 months in a country of the Global South or the Global North. weltwärts is global learning, development policy engagement and intercultural exchange.

After weltwärts

I was immediately fascinated by South Africa and was excited about life in Cape Town from day one. My weltwärts year had a lasting influence on me because it opened my eyes to many global issues such as poverty and inequality.
